Windows Live OneCare Perpetual Beta program

On 9-9-2008 I was invited for Windows Live OneCare Perpetual Beta program. I like the product easy to use and does the job. was there on the first beta on onecare and now on the last beta .

Windows Live OneCare is a comprehensive PC care service that goes beyond security to take an integrated approach to help protect and care for your computer. If you are interested in helping us out test out new features and functionality for the OneCare service, we invite you to join the Windows Live OneCare Perpetual Beta.

The Perpetual Beta is an invite-only group, please refrain from publicly posting this or any other Perpetual Beta information.

Your role in testing Windows Live OneCare is important to us. Participating in the Perpetual Beta means that you will have the first chance to test out new features before they are released to the public. By including you in the development process, we can make sure that Windows Live OneCare functions properly and meets the needs of customers. We hope you will join our beta and help make Windows Live OneCare the best it can be.

And On 18-11-2008

In order for us to focus on delivering this new security solution to millions of customers around the world, we have decided to phase out Windows Live OneCare and will discontinue retail sales of Windows Live OneCare subscription service beginning June 30, 2009.

This is also the end of my beta 😉

If you are a current OneCare subscriber, there is no action that you need to take at this time.

OneCare will continue to be available online at http://onecare.live.com to new and renewing subscribers at least until the new solution is available, for use on Windows XP and Windows Vista PCs. And Microsoft has committed to making sure you are protected for the life of your subscription. We’ll provide more information and details as we get closer to June and the availability of the new solution. But again, there is no action that you need to take at this time.

Ultimately, we believe the decision to offer a security solution at no additional cost to consumers and phase out Windows Live OneCare is the right step to broaden PC protection and improve the Windows experience for more users around the world. Microsoft will continue to deliver on its commitment to provide consumers around the world with a world-class security solution.
